Spring break

We had a fun spring break filled with family time and time with friends.

The beginning of the week Auntie Bekah and Uncle Blake came to visit from Spokane.  It was SO nice to have them stay with us.  Sadly we didn't take as many pictures of our time together.  While they were here we visited Woodland Park Zoo, had dinner with Uncle Justin at U-Village.
Kenzi was interested in "reading" the map at the zoo.
We ran into Kenzi's Ladybug friend Kaylee at the zoo!
Watching Annie after Easter...{it was the lastest version of Annie} we liked it!

Tuesday morning we meet up with my friend Krysta and her son Harry {I didn't even get a picture of the kids together} we explored the Kids Quest Museum together.  This spiral chalk wall was fun for the girls.  They had to work together and took turns nicely!
Wednesday we were spoiled with SUNSHINE!  We met my friend Ashlee and her son Trace (8 months) at Junita Beach Park.  It was a new park for us, we'll be back!  The girls had fun playing in the sand while Ashlee and I caught up with each other...then it was time to swing at the playground.

Our spring break ended with a trip to Vancouver BC.  It's always a fun get away and the weather held up pretty well.  We ate fresh oysters, gelato, the girls swam at the hotel pool, we walked around downtown and spent a day at Grandville Island {the girls had fun playing at the playground, watching some street performers, eating sandwiches from a yummy bakery and riding the aquabus.}

Kenzi T-Ball 2nd Practice/Game

Kenzi did a better job this week at t-ball.  She smack this one really well and ran the bases without too much hesitation, yay Kenzi!

Playdates!

We are so lucky to have so many friends to have playdates with.  Kenzi was enjoying a fun morning of play with Sofia and Olivia (below).
Later Kenzi drew this picture of Olivia and Sofia and their brother Matias.  I love how her drawings are getting more and more detailed.
Kenzi also had a fun playdate with her friend Claire.

Children's Garden Egg Hunt

Today was the egg hunt at Children's Garden...we have attended the egg hunt the last 3 years for Emi and this year Emi is an alum.  It's fun to see Kenzi at her school.
Listening to Bonnie, she always begins these events with such a warm welcome.

Kenzi's First t-ball Practice/Game

Kenzi had her first t-ball practice and game (they practice and then play a game right after).

Kenzi wasn't so sure about playing t-ball today but she does a great job hitting the ball and shows interest at home...hopefully after a few more practices she'll become less timid.
Oh I almost forgot to mention...she has the best coach!  Daddy!!!
Erich is so patient and encouraging, he loves sharing his love of sports with Kenzi (and Emi too).

Portland with the Emiley's

We indulged in a kid-free weekend with the Emiley's this weekend!  {Thanks to Auntie Jeanie and Uncle Marc for taking the girls for the whole weekend!}  We had such a wonderful time in Portland with this lovely couple.

Cheers!  To the best way to start a road trip with Emily!
{Thanks guys for driving and navigating!}

After checking in {The Benson Hotel} we headed to Tasty n Alder for drinks and dinner.

Here we are the first night!  We had a delicious meal {duck duck potatoes, mussels, seared scallops and more!}

The next day the guys ventured off on their bikes to for various beers.  Emily and I shopped and shopped and shopped and  then finally we ate at Maurice's the cutest french luncheonette!  We had the fluffiest quiche and the most delicate butter cookies with tea of course!

We ended at Clyde and Common for dinner and took advantage of the 3 course meal event.

My entree choice: trout    Erich went with the pork belly

The next morning was beautiful {again} and it was warm enough to sit outside and indulge in one more fabulous meal at Cheryl's before heading home.

Portland you were good to us!  Beautiful weather, delicious food, and we came with the best company!  We will be back!
