Broken Arm

We experienced our first trip the the ER with Kenzi.  She launched herself off the back of the couch and ended up with a broken humerus bone.  Of course I was in the room when it happened but wasn't expecting her to fly over the back of the couch, I think she now realizes how strong she is.  Luckily everything went smoothly...she really surprised us how brave and strong she is.  Right when she landed she cried, "ouchie, ouchie!" I thought it was the back of her head that was hurt but then I noticed her arm was not right.  I carried her upstairs and got Erich and we left for the hospital.  She was pretty calm and seemed to handle the pain okay (they wanted to give her morphine right away but we said we would like to wait until it was really bothering her) she held off for about an hr and a half until she got some pain medicine.  After x-rays, waiting for the surgeon and then the anesthesiologist we sent Kenzi off to the OR, it was so sad and scary leaving her but thankfully she came out of it well.  We ended up staying over one night at Swedish so they could observe her recovery.  We knew she was feeling better when she asked to have the TV on and then said that she didn't want to go home because she liked watching TV in bed.

She'll have a cast on for 4 weeks, just in time for summer!

Kenzi and Kasen

We met some friends from Emi's Honeybee Class {Children's Garden} at Coulon Park today.  It was sunny, a bit windy and chilly at first but that didn't stop these two buddies from digging in the sand and dipping their toes in the water.  Fun times!

Jefferson Park

We've been having some busy Saturdays with t-ball practices back to back!  This sunny Sunday we were taking it easy and ended up hanging out at Jefferson Park on a whim with Auntie Christine. Thanks for meeting us Christine!  The girls had a blast and will definitely want to come back here again and again!

They LOVE this zip line...oh the giggles were so fun to listen to!

Kenzi and Daddy enjoying the view of the city and a big jet overhead.

Auntie Christine's long board was a big hit too.

The girls sat and watched the kite flyers...they really wished we had brought their kites...we wished we had too!  Next time!

The girls thought the community garden was very cool.  We walked around in search of a mint plant...they love fresh mint leaves in their water.  We eventually found some and noticed many other plants, vegetables and fruit growing, it was so inspiring!  We need to start our garden for this season.

Art Completes Us!

Kenzi had her first art show debut with her fellow Ladybugs at the annual Children's Garden Art Show.  The class did one cute dance ::Here we go loop-de-loo::
Kenzi did a great job dancing with her class!  I'll have to download some pictures of her art work to add to this post...

Two wheeler in training!

Kenzi practiced a few times without training wheels and she caught on pretty quick to riding with 2 wheels...we just need to make sure she gets some more practice stopping.  Looking forward to warmer and longer days to practice with Daddy after work.

Here is Emi, hanging out on the picnic blanket while Kenzi practices her riding.
Packed up and heading home {she's got her bag of snacks and books, an umbrella for shade, and the picnic blanket}.
