My Little Painters

I love quiet mornings with my two artists.  Emi and Kenzi both love to paint.  Kenzi likes the feeling of paint right now more than creating a master piece.  She should not be left unattended with paints :)

Emi has learning to keep her colors more separate and can paint people and animals.

Little Gym

Kenzi and I were doing Little Gym with Kasen and Auntie Corey on Wednesday. Melanie joined us on our last day this month. They all had fun as usual but we are going to take a break from the gym and hope for dry weather so we can go play outside while Emi is at school.

Kenzi and Kasen, running for it!  They were doing this over and over, Melanie was just warming up to the gym so she wasn't ready to go run free yet.

Tire Swing Park

Kenzi took a early nap today which worked out since I needed to run to the store before dinner.   Since I had two cooperative shoppers we were in and out with time to spare so we stopped at the tire swing park to enjoy the sunshine.

Kenzi is saying, "Whoa!"  Emi is just enjoying the ride!

Emi's 1/2 Birthday

Emi celebrated her 1/2 birthday at school today.  Teacher Donna has Parsley Flakes, the special birthday puppet that presents the child with their birthday crown.


Here's Emi, proudly wearing her crown in the birthday chair, she is getting ready to walk around the earth 4 and half times, then she blows out the birthday candle.  It's such a great birthday ritual.

Mommy and Emi Time

It was time for some Mommy and Emi time so of course we picked to paint pottery together at our favorite ceramic painting studio in Gilman Village {Mudhouse Pottery}.

Emi loves to paint pottery, we stopped by Mudhouse Pottery for a few hours this afternoon.  Emi is pretty serious when she paints, she really is careful and concentrates on her masterpiece.

Ski Date

Emi and Nathan had their 3rd skiing lesson today. They are both doing so well!  Today it was snowing on the mountain, great timing since they just got new goggles. It was also the first time going on the magic carpet, I'll try to upload the video.  I can't wait to see these two in action next week!

Happy 2nd Birthday Kenzi!

We couldn't love our 2nd little girl more on her SECOND birthday!  Kenzi you make us laugh and keep us on our toes, you are curious and so very sweet.  We love you!

Auntie Jess and Baby Nora

Auntie Jess and Baby Nora came over for a playdate.  Baby Nora was the sweetest and Emi really had fun getting to know Jess.  When it was time for them to go Emi held Nora's binky in and talked to her to keep her happy.  Emi was convinced that Nora "really" liked her and loved that she was smiling back at her.  Thanks for coming over to visit!

Auntie Steph and Tate also joined us this day, but as you can see I didn't post any pictures of them, the ones I got were not very good and I think Steph would thank me for not including them on this post :)

Looking forward to having another playdate soon!

Random...

I noticed last week that Kenzi has consistently been sitting in a regular chair when at the table for meals...look at these two next to each other sitting flat on their bums like mini adults.  

I love how I will find these two enjoying books. 

Emi loves to "read" like she's the teacher.

                                         I hope reading never gets old for them, they love books!

Emi's First Ski Lesson

Emi {and her buddy Nathan} had her first ski lesson this Saturday.  It was a beautiful day at the summit and she was so excited!  She started out happy and worked really hard but ended up melting down the last 30 minutes (of the 2.5 hr class), then ended up with a fever that evening...poor girl.

After getting comfortable putting their skis on and off in the snow
and moving with one ski on, they were ready for both skis.

Nathan was so supportive and concerned when Emi began crying.
He walked right over and began to comfort her, it was so sweet.

She wasn't interested in wearing gloves and played in the snow for a little bit.

We are hoping lesson #2 goes well next Saturday!
