Girls Club

Emi's friend Ainsley invited the girls over for "Girl's Club" on MLK Day.  They had a tea party, did some crafts and took a walk to Phantom Lake to feed the geese.  It was a beautiful sunny day!  Thank you Ainsley {Kirsten and Raina} for hosting a fun day!

Fridays

I keep reminding myself to enjoy the opportunity to have lazy Fridays with my girls.  This fall when Emi is in school it will just be Kenzi and me.  Emi doesn't have school on Fridays and since the holidays we haven't had anything planned.  This Friday after breakfast they began with doing some perler beading, then the magic markers, then a dance party...

then Kenzi asked to paint...

Emi joined Kenzi in painting too, they painted for a whole hour until it was time for lunch.
I was a happy mama!

Working side by side

My friend Amy {has a daughter in Emi's preschool class} works in the Renton School District and asked me last summer if I would be interested in working on a project with her {called READY for Kindergarten} it's been perfect since it's only 3 days out of the whole school year, with a short training before each session.  Instead of working with students I am working with parents on ways to prepare their child for Kindergarten.  I have my 2nd class coming up this weekend and decided to pull out my presentation while Kenzi napped.  Emi decided to work on her word search while I worked, which was perfect!  She's getting the hang of looking for words and really enjoys working on something that is "school like."

Cleaning Crew

We usually take it easy on Friday mornings since Emi does not have school.  This morning I was tidying up when Emi asked if she could help.  Once Kenzi saw what Emi was doing she wanted to pitch in too!  How could I say no?

I set a cleaning caddy up for each of them {spray bottle, clothes, and sponge}

Emi tackled the counters.

Kenzi was at the sink washing dishes.

I love how they love to help around the house!

Drawing lesson

Gung Gung was Emi's Secret Santa this year at Auntie Christine and Uncle Eric's Christmas gathering.  It was funny to watch Emi try to get hints from Gung Gung on what he would like.  It went something like "I'm not your Secret Santa but what would you like?" Haha.  She picked out a sketch pad and pencils for Gung Gung and decided it would be good to get a sketch pad for herself so they could sketch together.  Here they are during their first sketch lesson, sketching fruit on a plate, Gung Gung was pointing out how to sketch some areas darker and lighter depending on where shadows fall.  Looks like they are both taking this pretty seriously.
