Popcorn

We have a few camping trips planned for the summer and 

I saw this diy camp fire popcorn idea on Pinterest.

1. take a aluminum pie pan, foil, and 1/4 cup of kernels and drizzle of vegetable oil.

2. cover with foil (seal the edges all around) 

 but also trying to leave space for the popcorn at the top.

3. Using long tongs, hold the tin over the fire and wait...and wait...it will start popping!

Dad's Day

Emi was really excited to have Daddy go to school with her for Dad's Day {Dad's get to eat lunch with their child and show off a trick at circle, Dad's also share about their childhood memories...} it's such a wonderful and fun day!  Here is what Emi packed Daddy for lunch...

Playdate!

We had Nathan and Kasen over after school today, it's so great to have friends close by!

Sunny Hat Day!

Kenzi found this hat that Auntie Corey had knit for Emi when she was little.  She wore it all morning and I had to snap a picture once we got to the Garden since she still had it on.

Korean BBQ

It was Memorial Day and I woke up with a craving for Korean food {and so did my mom!}

We spent the day cleaning out the garage and then met up with 

Gung Gung and Po Po for Korean bqq at the Korean Palace.

We had a yummy dinner! Emi and Kenzi thought it was pretty fun to cook dinner at the table.

Kenzi was especially happy about her ice water too!

Sunny Weather Activities

The sunshine made a come back this week and we enjoyed it by painting with home made chalk paint.

{1/4 cup corn starch, 1/4 cold water, a little bit of washable paint}

It was easy to make and they loved it!

We also walked to the park, which we had not done a while!

Swings = oldie but still fun!

Mother's Tea

Art

Emi and Kenzi really enjoy art!

Here they are glittering on a sunny afternoon.

Kenzi's canvas painting.  She designed it herself.  

She began with painting a frame, then the pink dots, and filled in the middle.  

I love it!

Emi's canvas painting...it started out as a rainbow then she wanted to add some gray metallic paint.  It turned out really neat!  She named it, "Orcas Rainbow Water."

I went to a Corks and Canvas event at Capri Cellars, it was so fun!

It makes me so happy that my girls love creating art!

Fender Bender

We got into a little fender bender on our way to soccer {got rear ended}

thankfully it wasn't too bad and everyone was okay.

I had to get a rental car while the van was getting fixed.

Thankfully these girls were cooperating as we rode in 2 different cars 

before getting to our 3rd and final rental car {which ended up being where we started the morning out} kinda of a waste of a morning {the car rental set up was only suppose to take 15- 30min.}

By the time we got to the actual rental car we were going to take they 

had already made progress on the van repairs.

With all the hassle of getting in and out of cars, clipping car seats in and out, 

we were happy that we ended up with the rental car that we did.  

It was a Mazda c5 and it was so fun to zip around in for a few days.

Now we are back in the mini...

Mother's Day

My little girls {and kind husband} surprised me with breakfast 

in bed before I headed out for the {whole} day to be with my mom.

Breakfast in bed, spa treatments, and a yummy home 

cooked dinner by my Dad...it was a fabulous Mother's Day!

{I also received some hand painted mugs from my girls and a nice letter from Erich}

Occasionally the girls will ask to sleep together and we love sneaking in later to check in them.

A Day "In"

This morning we were just too busy to get out to do any of our errands.

I am wondering how our mornings are going to be next year when Emi is in school all day!  

We are going to miss her!

Gelato

We were in Vancouver BC for the weekend Erich ran the 1/2 marathon

{and was happy to finish with a better time than last year}.

We would have liked to have sunshine but instead we had rain...

at least the hotel we stayed at had an indoor pool.  The rain didn't stop us from enjoying some gelato, Kenzi and Emi had lemon and as you can see by their faces...it's really yummy!
