I couldn't help but smile and feel proud of Kenzi's master piece, before most of her paintings were just paper covered with paint.  This was the first of many :)

Napper

Kenzi doesn't take naps much anymore but she fell asleep on the way home from a friend's house today...she's getting so big!

Daisy's

I forgot to mention Emi's a Girl Scout/Daisy.  

This is her troop of girls at a fun "sweet shop" event where they made all sorts of goodies with various candy.  Such a fun event with a sweet group of girls!

Ski

Our second trip up to Snoqualmie was still fun but we could have used a lot more snow!

The mountain was pretty bare...please do the snow dance for us!

Back to School

We all know how hard it is to wake up for school after enjoying lazy mornings during break.

I usually get the girls up by 7:15am, this morning I let them sleep in a little bit while I got myself ready, made breakfast and packed lunches.

Still pretending to be sleepy heads...

they thought this was so funny to pretend to fall back asleep right before loading 

up in the car.  It has been a tiring week but I think they both missed school and 

are happy to have our school routine again.

Sunny Day!

It was a beautiful warm January day and we didn't have anywhere to run off to after school so we walked to pick Emi up from school this afternoon.

I just can't say enough about the amazing view behind the school.

The girls took off after we left school...happy to enjoy the sunny afternoon!

Skiing, First time in 2015

We have been watching and waiting for snow in the mountains so that we could start using our season ski passes.  Here's Emi already to go in her new ski jacket.  Kenzi was all bundled up in Emi's old coat and snow pants, and I couldn't snap a picture of her {she was too excited}.

Riding the lift...I got my phone out and Emi started saying, "Mom...put your phone away, you can do that later we are on the chair lift, Mom!"  

I told her that I just needed a quick picture and then I'd put it away and hang on :)

Kenzi played in the snow {happily} from 12:30-4pm, what a trooper!

We had a fun family day up on the slopes...

we could use some more snow up in the mountains though as only 3 lifts were open and there were some bare patches, exposing rocks and shrubs.  Emi and I still had fun skiing together she picked up right from where she left off last year! Emi rode the chair up one time as a single to see what it would be like and skied down to us all by herself {She did great!  I did warn her and prep her all afternoon about safety and tricky people before I left her go, ha ha.}   

Rainbow Loom Bracelets

Emi and Kenzi got some mail from some special kids this week.  Inside was a gift card to Barnes and Noble and Rainbow Loom bracelets.  Ryan, Megan and Kevin, thanks so much for thinking of them!

Happy New 2015!

We had some friends over to ring in the new year, so we decorated, made food and came up with some fun games.  We weren't sure how late the kids were going to make it until midnight...

  

...apparently at this age we didn't have too much trouble with staying up late.

The kids were mostly happy and no major meltdowns!

The adults were able to chat, snack and enjoy a few drinks.
