Sleepy heads

These two sleepy heads are the best!

Snoqualmie falls

Daddy was out of town this weekend so I decided to take the girls to the Snoqualmie Falls. The weather was warm and sunny, Emi liked how she could feel the mist from the falls as she watched. Kenzi liked watching the falls too. As they were both just standing together Emi put her arm over Kenzi's shoulder, leaned over and gave her little sis a kiss on the head; it was the sweetest thing!

Mommy's Summer Vacation

For the first time since having the girls I went on a real get away! I hopped on a plane with 6 fabulous friends {and met one more in AZ} and off we flew to Arizona. I could not have gone on this trip with out the help of a wonderful husband who stayed home and took care of the girls {he was great and happy to do it!}

Emily and I on the deck outside the Griffin Club.

Janet coordinated everyone's spa services!  Here are the essentials and goodies that everyone was supplied with for 4 fabulous days in the sun, pool and spa!

It didn't take long to settle in, let down and relax!

I did miss my girls but I really enjoyed my time away.

We were spoiled by the yummy food and service at the Griffin Club at the JW Marriot {Desert Ridge} every minute we spent here was amazing!

AZ I will be back for you next year!

Curl and Twirl

Some how I got sucked into watching some youtube videos on curling hair.  I think it's because I wasn't still bummed that I couldn't get the sock bun to work with my hair but wanted waves like that...so I found this great video by Melissa.  She has a technique called the "curl and twirl" I tried it and I LOVED it, it really lasts and I don't get that triangle shaped look that I used to get when I curled my hair the old way...try it out, I even tried it on Emi, she loved it too!

Crafty

This afternoon while Kenzi was napping Emi and did a craft project together.  Of course it was yet another Pinterest idea...money jars.  I thought this was a great way to help Emi understand about "saving" and "spending" money.   Emi and I made these together, they were really quick to put together {grab some old jars, scrapbook paper, and baker's twine or ribbon.}  I need to make a set for Kenzi next!

I've added some other crafts that I have been doing lately on my craft blog for those of you who are interested check it out:  http://cardsandpapercrafts.blogspot.com/

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to an AMAZING Daddy!  We put this photo project together for Daddy to let him know how special he is to us.  Believe it or not it was a little tricky getting the girls to take pictures with the letters, they were a bit of a distraction...over all, I think they ended up turning out pretty great!

We planned to celebrate Father's Day early on Saturday by going to Washington Beer Festival at Marymoor Park {I know that sounds a little strange but it was a family friendly event} Kenzi got sick shortly after we arrived so I took her home to rest while Erich and Emi enjoyed the beautiful day together.  We hope that we can all enjoy this festival next year together!

On Sunday we took the girls to the Ballard Locks for the first time.  Emi found it very interesting and liked watching the boats.  Kenzi fell asleep on our drive over and then continued to sleep for most of the time we were there {a sign she was not well}.  The weather was beautiful, perfect for being outside near the water!

We ended the night with our usual bedtime reading.
We love you Daddy!

Here are some more pictures from our Father's Day at the Ballard Locks.  It was the first time we had come here in many years.  I love bringing our girls to places that my parents used to take me to, it was a perfect Seattle day to be outside too!

Country village

Now that Emi is finished with school for the year we decided to meet up with Auntie Natalie and Melanie for some fun at Country Village. Last time the ponies were not giving rides, so today Emi was super excited about getting to ride a pony.
Kenzi wanted to ride a pony too, she was more excited about the pony ride than this picture shows.
This merry go round was Kenzi and Melanie's favorite.
Auntie Natalie and Melanie, thanks for a fun morning!

Sugar Snap Peas

Erich was excited to plant veggies this year...Emi and Daddy planted some sugar snap peas and they sprouted!  After a lot of patience and watering we finally started getting some peas!

Picking our peas!  They were sweet and crispy...too bad not long after our first pick our snap peas got taken down by some bunnies {we think} darn!  Next year we will try again!

Camping :: Lopez Island ::

On the ferry to Lopex Island...here we come to camp!
We were in good company with our friends Sabrina and Michaela {and their parents}.
The weather was perfect so it was looking like I was not going to have too much to complain about.  :)

The horn was loud on the ferry!

First of a few loads to the camp site {which was right on the beach, very nice!}

Having fun already!

Father's Day

We made our amazing Daddy this special project.  He loved it :)
We spent Father's Day celebrating Erich and Gung Gung at the Ballard Locks.
