Playing around

Kenzi and I were playing around with these foam letter puzzles this morning.  I was a horse and let her ride on my back while she held a few letters...she would tell me to stop right before the letter that she had in her hand.  It was a fun way to check which letters she could identify.  After a while mama horsey got tired so then she was the little horsey.

Kenzi and I were playing around and then she decided she needed some lip gloss for her dry lips.  Then we tried to take some selfies...

Date night

Erich and I took a little time to get out together.  We stopped by Sunset Ale house to grab a beer and fried, then Capri Cellars for a flight of wine...last we ended at Jak's for a delicious meal.

Yard work

We took advantage of the nice weather and our not first unscheduled Saturday for a while to do some yard work.  While Erich was clearing out a corner in the yard he ran into this little guy...

the girls were curious and decided to keep him in a bucket for a few hours...

They filled the bucket with things that they thought their new lizard like friend would like...

they also gave their slimy looking friend a name: Lizzy.

{We did set Lizzy free back in the yard where s/he was found later that day.}

Weekend Randoms

While Daddy was away this weekend we kept ourselves busy with a birthday party at Ebright park.  Emi and Kenzi had fun playing outside with their friends {Raygen's 4th birthday party}.  Kenzi learned how to swing across the monkey bars all by herself!  She did let go a little bit too early the third time and we left the park with a nice little goose egg.  Good thing she is so tough!

The next morning we met my parents, Auntie Natalie, Uncle Justin and their dog Buddy at Marymoor park for a walk.  Well, Emi joined Buddy on a nice stroll through the dog park but Kenzi was too nervous, so along with Po Po, we walked through the community garden and saw some really yummy vegetables and pretty flowers.

After our walk we had lunch and then headed to Auntie Natalie's house to make cookies {Emi has been waiting for this day for a long time!}  Kenzi is sitting on the island because she is so worried about Buddy getting too close.

After cookie baking we headed to Build A Bear.  We've had some gift cards that we needed to use, so this was a fun way to end the day.  Emi chose a white sparkle bear that she named Mia.  Kenzi chose Flutter Shy, a My Little Pony.

Kenzi and I have been enjoying our quiet mornings together playing and creating things.  Today we were building with the mega blocks.  Emi didn't play with these much so I had put them away in the closet until today when Kenzi showed interest...we sorted them by color and then began building.

It's been great to be able to have play time with Kenzi while Emi is working hard at school.

After school lunch date...

Kenzi wanted to have sushi after school today...she is having her favorite {salmon rolls} Kenzi loves going to school and is usually pretty tired afterwards.

Kenzi's First Day of Preschool {Ladybug}

Kenzi was ready to go for her first day of preschool.  Last night when I was tucking her in I reminded her that tomorrow would be the first day of school.  Kenzi cheered!  "I'm SO excited, I can't wait!"  Then went to bed...this morning she woke up and picked her out her clothes.  Daddy did her hair today and she was all set!

First day painting with friends.

This little bug had the best first day and the first thing she asked when we picked her up was, "when do I get to come to school again?"  We are so lucky to have found such a wonderful school for our family, it's going to be a great year!

Since Emi has started Kindergarten Kenzi and I have more time to spend time doing things that she enjoys.  We've been playing in the playroom together more and she's getting more interested in doing some learning activities.  She's really excited that she can write a "k" now and with some help she can write the other letters in her name, she's super proud!  This lil one is going to be starting preschool in a few days!  She says, "I'm SO excited!!!"  Kenzi is looking forward to painting and playing with all the neat things at the Children's Garden.

Emi's First Day of Kindergarten

It seemed like this day was never going to come and then...it was here!  Emi's first day of Kindergarten.  Emi was ready for her first day, she was so excited to get to spend more time in her classroom after doing some activities at the school before the first day...

Here's Emi at meet the teacher.  She has an awesome teacher, and I can't to see all the things that Emi will be learning in Kindergarten.

Kenzi gave Emi a BIG hug without us asking her to, she really loves her big sister.

When the bell rang Mrs. O came out to greet each child with a name tag and then the line began to move and we sent her off with hugs and kisses.  

{Mommy and Emi parted with dry eyes, and if you know me I tear up easily, 

but I knew she was ready and her teacher was going to be amazing.}

And off she goes!

After school we were there to pick Emi up...her teacher makes sure that they all go home with the right people...

Emi was greeted by Kenzi with a BIG hug!  She was missed!

We made some new friends and love walking home from school together.

Here's Emi the second morning of school, getting ready with out much reminding on what to do...

Here's Kenzi...I have been transferring her from her slumber to the stroller that she hasn't 

used in so long.  It's about a mile to the school from our house so it's a little to 

long for us to walk and for me to carry her there if she is asleep.

We are so proud of our little Emi!  Yay for the first days of school!
